Justin Bieber Speaks Out on Baby Drama, Accuser

Justin Bieber Speaks Out on Baby Drama, Accuser

Bieber’s team has confirmed the 17-year-old singer will still take a DNA test to disprove paternity charges thrown against him by 20-year-old Mariah Yeater, who this week both abruptly withdrew her paternity suit against Bieber and was dropped by her own attorneys.

Yeater has since hired new legal representation and reportedly wants to settle out of court.

Yeater’s lawsuit against Bieber claimed a minutes-long tryst between the two in a backstage bathroom at the Staples Center in Los Angeles following a concert in October 2010, when she was 19 and he was 16, resulted in the birth of her son Tristyn Anthony Markhouse Yeater this July.

Bieber denied the allegations from the start, claiming the story was “completely made up” and that he had never even met Yeater.

His team says the pop star has no intentions of reaching a settlement with Yeater, whose case may fall apart yet again thanks to a new set of text messages released by the celebrity website TMZ.

“Pleeease ERASE ALL MESSAGES from my mom where she says Tristyn is Robbie’s Son,” reads a message allegedly sent from Yeater to a friend on Wednesday. “I’ll kick u when we get paid. I’m trusting you pleeease.”

In another text, Yeater allegedly writes: “Would you please stress to Robbie how important it is for him to be in his son’s life?”

Robbie is the ex-boyfriend whom Yeater earlier accused of fathering baby Tristyn, whom she now claims is Bieber’s.

Yeater also faces a bench trial next month on a misdemeanor battery charge filed against her last December claiming she slapped 18-year-old Robbie during a dispute.

Yeater’s new attorney, Jeffrey Leving, said he is investigating whether the texts obtained by TMZ are authentic, while Bieber’s team says they are more evidence that Yeater’s claims are just a classic celebrity shakedown.

“This information proves Mariah Yeater fabricated the story. Our independent investigation indicates Ms. Yeater never met Justin, she has consistently identified another man as the child’s father, and Ms. Yeater and her co-conspirators hatched this scheme in order to extort money from him and to sell her story to the media,” Bieber’s attorney, Howard Weitzman told E! News in a statement Thursday. “There have been no settlement discussions and there never will be.”

Bieber’s publicist told E! News the singer still plans to take DNA test, which Leving says Yeater also wants, to hold “those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.”

With the threat of a lawsuit behind him, Bieber is now speaking out, and even joking, about the controversy.

Turning more serious, Bieber continued, “As far as the whole baby situation, it’s unfortunate that it had to happen like that. That people make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you just have to keep your head high and be positive and that’s all I really have to say.”

My mum always told me there wasn't a Santa: Justin Bieber

'My mum always told me there wasn't a Santa'

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has revealed that his mum made sure that he never believed in Father Christmas. The Canadian singer said that he was warned at a young age that the big man was a myth because mother Pattie Mallette wanted to gain his trust. "My mum always told me there wasn't a Santa," he told AOL Music. "This was her logic. She thought if I grew up knowing about Santa then finding out he wasn't real, that it would be like she was lying to me. And then when she told me about God, I maybe wouldn't believe her. "So she just wanted to be straight-up and honest with me all the time. But I didn't tell my friends or ruin it for anyone - I was a good kid!"
